Indie-Pictures Distribution Model is being noticed by Indie-Filmmakers

A recent posting by The WILD DINER FILMS Blog (ex-DIY Filmmaker Sujewa) telling fellow indie-filmmakers to check out Indie-Pictures for the next distribution deal

Hey indie & DIY filmmakers, Indie-Pictures sounds interesting; a filmmaker founded distribution company with the ability to get DVDs into stores nationwide (through Ryko's distribution network, which I believe is now owned by Warner). Also, the company says their approach to indie film distribution is based on releasing the DVD first, building up a fan base for the title, and then taking a look at theatrical. They also share sales $s from DVDs with the filmmakers very fairly (50/50 usually, as far as I know). Indie-Pictures isn't about making a huge profit for itself, it's about sustaining itself, supporting independent film and about finding a way for filmmakers to realize real profit from good work, which frankly, has been the elusive part of independent distribution for many years. We're confident filmmakers will see greater profits from us and will appreciate the control and interactivity you get from Indie-Pictures.

Before I start my daily festival experience blog, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone at aGLIFF for allowing myself and my company Indie-Pictures to be part of this years festival with our premier of "Idol" on Saturday, October 7th. Never in a thousands years would I ever thought I would have this wonderful opportunity. It is indeed an honor for me to bring one of our premier films to this years event. So thank you again aGLIFF in making a dream come true for me.

Now on with the good material. During the various festivals I attend each year I receive numerous questions "What's it like to attend a festival?" "What in the heck to do you do all day?" and so on and so on....Having to answer these questions over and over I thought it would be nice to share my daily experiences with everyone while I attend aGLIFF this year. This is a very open forum so if you have questions for me I will be happy to answer them to the best of my ability. As those who know me and all those industry types in Hollywood do now, I have a no "fluff" policy.
