the Horrifying Feature Directorial Debut from Roger A. Scheck
Coming to DVD June 24, 2008 from Indie-Pictures, LLC
LOS ANGELES – MARCH 11, 2008 All Alice has ever wanted was the love she never had. Now that she is all grown up, she will do anything to get it – lie, kidnap, torture, or kill. Todd Taylor, CEO of Indie-Pictures, announces the June 24, 2008, DVD release of NOBODY LOVES ALICE, a horrifying journey into the world of woman who has a terrible penchant for destroying those who disappoint her, written and directed by newcomer Roger A. Scheck.
Alice (NITZAN MAGER) is a beautiful woman whose good looks hide an endurably lonely childhood in a series of foster homes. Also hidden is an insane – and murderous – desire for fairy tale love. Whoever withholds it from her is brutally punished with Alice’s own brand of brutal torture. It is the bad luck of her co-worker Abigail (AMANDA TAYLOR) and her fiancĂ© Alex (PHILLIP WARD) to find out too late why NOBODY LOVES ALICE, as they become her next prey. Now Abigail must try to get into Alice’s twisted world to try to find and save the man she loves – or what’s left of him – before it’s too late.
NOBODY LOVES ALICE is a recent acquisition by Indie-pictures, a group organized to help independent movies get the distribution they deserve. This is the first feature film for director Roger A. Scheck, a graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts, School of Filmmaking. NOBODY LOVES ALICE was filmed on location in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Forgiving the Franklins by Jay Floyd coming to DVD on May 20, 2008
From The Sundance Film Festival Comes to DVD
May 20, 2008 From Indie-Pictures, LLC

Dad Frank Franklin (ROBERTSON DEAN), mother Betty (TERESA WILLIS), and football-playing son Brian (VINCE PAVIA) are members of a conservative church who are changed forever after a fateful car crash that sends them to meet their maker, a very unorthodox Jesus (POP DaSILVA). Frustrated by their narrow and judgmental world-view, He removes their Original Sin and sends them back to Earth. No longer inhibited, they bloom, as husband and wife discover the pleasures of passion and their son embarks on a homosexual romance. But there’s trouble in paradise, as their happiness puts them at odds with the neighbors, and their daughter (AVIVA), a bitter cheerleader who prays to God in rants that are as profane as they are pious.
The cast is a combination of newcomers and up-and-comers. Aviva, starred in the last year’s hit Superbad, and has appeared on television in “Cold Case” and “Malcolm in the Middle.” Vince Pavia can be seen later this year in How to be a Hitman. Robertson Dean, who plays their father, has appeared in Vanilla Sky, “24,” Star Trek: Nemesis, and “Frasier.”
“Smart, accessible, and fall-from-your-chair funny, Forgiving the Franklins is everything that film should be,” wrote David Foster in Foster on Film. FORGIVING THE FRANKLINS was an official selection at the Sundance Film festival in 2006, and at SXSW, as well as at film festivals in Santa Fe, Nashville, and Cucalorus.

Nick Name and The Normals tells the story of
Besides being entertaining, funny and possessing an amazing soundtrack of music, Nick Name and the Normals is an eye-opening examination of homophobia and how badly religion can damage as much as it claims to heal.
The film poses the question that, as gays struggle to become more “mainstream” are they threatened by political anger? Nick Name and the Normals provides a very necessary image for gay men today-a masculine gay man who not only struggles with the straight world, but who also struggles with the gay world and his own place in it. Unlike the imagery of most media which provides stereotypes, Nick Name and The Normals provides a hero that is masculine, angry and looking for answers. Imagery that is sadly lacking in most “gay films” today which seem more interested in re-affirming stereotypes. Editor/Director Howard Skora’s mastery of the camera and skilled editing tells this complex and riveting story behind this sexy and notorious gay punk rocker and revolutionary.

Indie-Pictures announces their newest acquisition "The Audience Strikes Back" by Patrick Beacham
Los Angeles, CA - Indie-Pictures is proud to announce their newest acquisition: "The Audience Strikes Back." Director Patrick Beacham delivers a first-rate dark comedy based on the recent George Lucas film, "The Revenge of the Sith." Imagine yourself leaving the theater after just seeing "The Revenge of the Sith" A strange man approaches you holding a microphone. "We're shooting a documentary." the man states, "Would you care to express your opinions about the film you just saw?" You agree and suddenly find yourself in a barren room with a film crew and seven strangers who have also agreed to the same line of questioning. At first, it all seems friendly enough. Everyone involved loves “Star Wars” and its entire franchise. However, the group quickly discovers something: Not only do they have absolutely nothing in common except the film they just saw, but none of them would ever voluntarily put themselves in a conversation with anyone else in the group, let alone put themselves in the same room with one another. No one seems to care and everyone decides there is no holding back. Why not make the best of an otherwise awkward situation? After all, they’re all in the same boat.
Much to their surprise, the boat quickly begins to spring leaks. The conversation which is supposed to be about their opinions on Star Wars, quickly turns into a situation that must be seen to be believed. Everything you were ever warned about discussing at the dinner table is up for grabs: Gay marriage and adoption, Christian fundamentalism, The war in Iraq, abortion, global warming, and beheadings…just to name a few. "The Audience Strikes Back" sheds new light on what people actually dare say behind closed doors and in the presence of strangers.
Look for "The Audience Strikes Back" arriving soon at your local video store. If you would like to receive updates on when and where to purchase "The Audience Strikes Back," please visit: www.theaudiencestrikesback.com or www.Indie-Pictures.com or email: info@indie-pictures.com.

Indie-Pictures Distribution Model is being noticed by Indie-Filmmakers
Check out the DVD distribution company Indie-Pictures
Hey indie & DIY filmmakers, Indie-Pictures sounds interesting; a filmmaker founded distribution company with the ability to get DVDs into stores nationwide (through Ryko's distribution network, which I believe is now owned by Warner). Also, the company says their approach to indie film distribution is based on releasing the DVD first, building up a fan base for the title, and then taking a look at theatrical. They also share sales $s from DVDs with the filmmakers very fairly (50/50 usually, as far as I know). Go visit their site here, and e-mail them with your questions to find out more about possibly working with them on getting your film or DVD out.
Indie-Pictures isn't about making a huge profit for itself, it's about sustaining itself, supporting independent film and about finding a way for filmmakers to realize real profit from good work, which frankly, has been the elusive part of independent distribution for many years. We're confident filmmakers will see greater profits from us and will appreciate the control and interactivity you get from Indie-Pictures.

Now on with the good material. During the various festivals I attend each year I receive numerous questions "What's it like to attend a festival?" "What in the heck to do you do all day?" and so on and so on....Having to answer these questions over and over I thought it would be nice to share my daily experiences with everyone while I attend aGLIFF this year. This is a very open forum so if you have questions for me I will be happy to answer them to the best of my ability. As those who know me and all those industry types in Hollywood do now, I have a no "fluff" policy.
I look forward to seeing everyone during the next 10 days and if you see me in the lobby or at a party please come by say hello. I usually wear a Panama hat so you can't miss me. If you like to email me you can reach me at ttaylor@indie-pictures.com www.Indie-Pictures.com
